Would you like to become a volunteer Trustee with the Rowans Hospice Charity?
The Rowans Hospice Charity is a local charity dedicated to improving the lives of people with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses. Established since 1994, we support more than 1,000 patients and families across Portsmouth and South East Hampshire every year. We provide our services free from discrimination and free of charge, but each year it costs more than £6 million to continue our vital work.
Would you like to help us in our endeavours?
We have a strong and committed group of volunteer Trustees, who include a cross-section of people with experience of hospice, health and social care, and others with substantial and varied professional expertise. They share overall control and responsibility for the governance of the Hospice and its strategic direction, working closely with the Rowans Hospice Executive Director team.
We would be delighted to hear from you if you feel you relate to our values and have a contribution to make as a volunteer Trustee, particularly if you have expertise and qualifications in the financial or legal arenas, or hold theological/philosophical perspectives.
The Rowans Hospice Trustee Board meets six times a year and at other times members are required to represent the main Board during governance group meetings involving Clinical Excellence, Ethics, Human Resources, Estates, Finance, Audit and Retail.
We are able to offer funded Governance training and whilst these positions are voluntary and unremunerated, legitimate expenses including travel to meetings can be reimbursed.
If you would like to apply, we would ask that you initially contact Lisa Hoare at Rowans Hospice with a brief explanation of why you are interested in becoming a volunteer Trustee by the closing date of 7th of June 2019. Please visit our website for more information about the Rowans Hospice: www.rowanshospice.co.uk or call 02392 250 001.
