Birtenshaw is one of the fastest growing charities in the UK and a company limited by guarantee.
We offer a range of tailored education, care and therapy services for children and young adults with severe learning disability, autistic spectrum conditions, significant physical impairment and/or complex health needs.
We are seeking to appoint Trustees who share our aspiration to Brighten Lives and Build Futures but who also understand and can actively contribute to, the governance of such a complex organisation.
Candidates should have experience at strategic or board level in the public, private or voluntary sectors and be willing to help us deliver our strategic development plan over the coming years.
Candidates will have a track record of success in their own fields and wish to contribute to the transformation of the lives of disabled young people.
You will find being a Trustee at Birtenshaw rewarding, with real opportunities to develop your own skills and knowledge. You will work with other Trustees, the Chief Executive and executive directors who are all dedicated to excellence.
If appointed, you should be willing to attend four Board meetings and three committee meetings per year. These are usually held in the evenings. There is also typically at least one strategy planning day per year.
For an informal discussion please call David Reid (Chief Executive) on 01204 304230 or click apply for this job now for further details on how to apply.
