The Fundraising Regulator is the independent, non-statutory body that regulates the charitable fundraising sector in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. It stands up for best practice in fundraising, in order to protect donors and support the vital work of fundraisers.
Established in 2016, the regulator is now moving beyond its initial set up phase to embark on the next phase of its strategic journey. Due to a number of the current NEDs coming to the end of their terms, the regulator is looking to enhance the skills and expertise of its board with professional knowledge and experience in at least one of the following areas:
- Charitable fundraising
- Legal frameworks
- Public policy
- The voluntary sector and the political environment operating in Wales
This is an exciting time to be part of the leadership of an organisation that plays an essential role in regulating charitable fundraising in England, Wales and Northern Ireland through setting the standards that all fundraising organisations should adhere to and encouraging best practice in fundraising.
There are nearly 4,000 charities now registered with the Fundraising Regulator and publicly committed to the standards set out in the Code of Fundraising Practice. As its reach extends in the charitable fundraising sector and recognition among these organisations increases, the regulator is now focusing on growing public awareness of the benefits it delivers.
You may be an experienced non-executive or someone looking for your first board position with expertise in one of the above areas.
You will also have passion, motivation and most importantly commitment to take a leadership role in providing a critical service to the public.
The Fundraising Regulator welcomes all applicants and are keen to enhance their Board to reflect the diversity of their staff and the community they serve.
