Purpose: To provide inspiring interim leadership, management and development for MediCinema, delivering a successful pivotal year as part of the charity’s strategic growth plan to build the charity to double the number of MediCinemas and triple the number of people reached each year by 2025.
Our Chief Executive will be going on maternity leave mid-May 2019. As a result we are looking for an exceptional and inspiring Interim Chief Executive to join the team, full time, for a fixed term of twelve months, ideally from mid-April (potentially earlier).
We are looking for someone with the initiative, commitment, relationship-building and communication skills to lead our growing team and stakeholders through this exciting year, and to support the charity to deliver on our ambitious business plan and celebrate our 20th anniversary.
The person we are looking for will be confident picking up and engaging with existing and prospective major supporters, patrons of the charity, and high level partner and prospective partner representatives, working with them and the Board to support the celebration of our 20th anniversary and drive our growth plan. He or she will proactively raise the profile of the organisation, acting as spokesperson for the charity and developing networks to support our strategy.
The person we are looking for will be hands on enough to personally drive, with support from the Board, the development of the hospital / new cinema pipeline and profile of the charity within the health sector, bringing on additional resource when required to do that. He or she will be highly persuasive and passionate about our cause, and have a proven track record in strategic management, building new services, and negotiation.
He or she will steer the organisation along the path of our strategic plan, supporting the team to achieve outputs and outcomes, putting in motion identified developments, and ensuring the Board is engaged and informed. Operational management will be provided by the Director of Operations and team, with strategic input coming from the interim CEO.
This is an exciting role at a unique and important juncture for the charity, and candidates could come from a range of backgrounds. Whatever their background, the successful candidate will have a demonstrable track record of inspirational leadership, acting as a spokesperson, successful strategic relationship-building, operational management and operating at a senior level. Given the nature of MediCinema’s work, candidates will need to show experience in at least one of the areas pertinent to our work: the charitable sector, the film industry or healthcare, and a number of other areas.
