The Lloyds Bank Foundation is looking to appoint a full time, permanent Head of Grant Making South, managing six Grant Managers within a geographic patch that covers: half of England from the Bristol Channel to the Humber Estuary. The post is home-based with frequent travel in the region and to the Foundation’s London Office. The role requires an individual with demonstrable management experience and at least 3 years’ experience providing support for charities through business development and the delivery of training as well as previous experience in undertaking grant assessment and grant management work, with established networks across the voluntary sector and with a good understanding of the environment that small and medium charities are operating in.
The role also includes responsibility for contributing to wider Foundation activity including working with colleagues within Lloyds Banking Group, other funders and infrastructure organisations to develop the Foundation’s ‘Grant Plus’ activity, and managing the project activities of the Grant Managers in your area of responsibility. The Foundation places an emphasis on engaging directly with the charities it supports and those seeking funding so a key aspect of the role involves meeting with charity staff, trustees and beneficiaries.
The post holder will be required to work closely with the Head of Grant Making North and Head of Service Delivery to ensure the delivery of excellent communication and collaborative decision making as well as ensuring the development of future grant programmes. The post holder will also have experience of supplier management and will have the ability to identify, produce, interrogate and interpret data to improve practice.
The role is full time and permanent and it is a requirement of the appointment for the postholder to reside in the South or the Midlands in a location that makes it practical to travel to the six Grant Managers and charities within the territory. Given the nature of the work and the locality it is a requirement that candidates are able to travel frequently. The post is offered at a salary level that reflects the range of duties and responsibilities as well as the level of experience required. The post also attracts an essential car user allowance.
