Director of Services and Innovation
London base with some national travel
Salary range - £67,822 - £85,325 + benefits
Family Action is a national charity, which transforms lives by providing practical, emotional and financial support to those who are experiencing poverty, disadvantage and social isolation. Building stronger families since 1869, we now work with over 45,000 families through over 140 community-based services. Thousands more are supported with financial assistance through our education and welfare grants programmes and our innovative services reach out to those in need. We strengthen families and communities, build skills and resilience and improve the life chances of children and adults.
As we anticipate our 150th anniversary we are in a great position to build on the positive momentum we’ve achieved over the past few years which has seen our income almost double and diversify, and the continuing development and growth of responsive and targeted services within the communities in which we operate. Innovation, continuous improvement and agility characterise our work and approach and ensure we continue to evolve to meet the changing needs of families today.
Our Director of Services and Innovation sits at the heart of our organisation and plays a pivotal role in ensuring we continue to focus on the quality and retention of operational services and the development of innovative new models to improve outcomes for our service users. Working with a supportive and talented executive team on organisation-wide issues and business development, you will also lead a large and geographically dispersed operational team of senior managers, staff and volunteers and play an important role in driving new national service development and embedding high quality delivery. This is a challenging but hugely exciting role with broad and varied dimensions and with tremendous scope to influence and drive our ongoing growth.
We are looking for an ambitious and entrepreneurial individual who brings considerable experience in strategic leadership of a broad range of services on a substantial scale; this could already be in a health and/or social care environment. With a high degree of emotional resilience and a can-do, open and flexible style we are looking for someone who can flex between the strategic and operational detail and maintain a keen grasp on both. Bringing a focus on quality and performance, you need to be an adaptable and responsive leader, possessing a depth of experience and gravitas to be able to build trust and confidence quickly with both your team and key internal and external stakeholders.
We offer a collaborative, values driven culture where innovation and continuous improvement are the norm. This is a wonderful opportunity and a role that offers lots of variety and scope to truly contribute to our continued growth and impact.
