At a pivotal point in the fight to protect nature and the future of our planet, Wildlife and Countryside Link (Link) is seeking an exceptional leader to help deliver the strongest possible joint voice for the protection of our environment.
As Link’s Chief Executive, you will hold one of the most stimulating, varied and influential roles in the environment sector – leading the largest wildlife and environment coalition in England, with 52 member organisations.
This is an immensely exciting and critical time to join the organisation as we face a new era of environmental challenge and opportunity following Brexit, coupled with declines in biodiversity and the impacts of climate change on our natural world.
We are seeking an individual that will inspire our member organisations, staff and trustees in setting and delivering shared goals in an ambitious new strategic plan. You will build trust and confidence amongst our members and stakeholders, and your influencing and negotiation skills will enable Link to drive positive change at the highest level.
Key to the role is creating an influencing bridge, helping Link’s 52 member organisations to tell compelling stories, based on convincing evidence, which persuade Link’s target audiences. You will have a strong understanding of Government policy making and an excellent network of contacts.
Ensuring continued success, development and sustainability of the organisation will be a significant focus of the role. You will be innovative in your approach, able to spot opportunities and, with outstanding interpersonal skills, you will build influential relationships, both internally and externally.
We are looking for someone with a first-rate track record of delivering tangible success and who, ideally, has a background in policy, influencing and coalition working. You must also be as passionate as we are about working collaboratively to secure positive outcomes for our natural environment.
