Spirit of 2012 is the London 2012 legacy fund, established with a £47 million endowment by the National Lottery Community Fund in 2013. We invest in happiness by funding inclusive projects that enable people and communities to be active, creative and connected and as a result to improve their wellbeing.
Our grantees range from national organisations to small, hyper-local ones.
Our new Chief Executive must have the vision and motivation to work alongside the Board to evolve our strategy, and the all-round operational capability to lead the executive team in delivering it into 2020 and beyond.
The Spirit Chief Executive is accountable to the National Lottery Community Fund for our endowment. S/he is also responsible for Spirit’s growing reputation across the grant making sector as a ‘Funder Plus’, and must share our passionate and informed commitment to process and outcomes evaluation. S/he can expect to work closely with the Board, the Spirit senior management team and our network of external evaluation partners to build, analyse and share learning about the impact of the projects we fund on individual and community wellbeing.
You will have a track record of successful senior leadership, and also be ready to turn your hand to anything. Every week brings a new challenge for our small team, you will be equally happy formulating strategic planning and helping out when the team needs all hands on deck.
