Chair Opportunity at Leeds Children's Charity

Could you bring inclusive, values-led leadership to our ambitious children's charity? Do you have the governance skills to foster a culture of openness and trust for our Board? Then you could be our new Chair of Trustees, here at Leeds Children's Charity!

This is an extraordinary chance to work with our CEO, making choices rooted in kindness, integrity and collaboration! Your expertise will lead us in making the greatest possible impact for children.

Will you share our passion in improving the lives of children across Leeds? Then, we'd love to hear more about your interest in joining us as Chair!

Who are Leeds Children’s Charity?

Leeds Children’s Charity commits to supporting children from the most deprived areas of our city. They are children who often face significant barriers to opportunity, wellbeing and inclusion.

Since 1904, we continue to focus on those who would otherwise miss out on the chance to play in a safe environment. Our work gives them the chance to play and grow in inspiring outdoor spaces.

With our services based at Lineham Farm, children enjoy respite, adventure and healing through nature.

What matters to Leeds Children’s Charity?

We support children from the most disadvantaged communities in Leeds. We care passionately about offering safe, joyful and enriching experiences for the children.

The confidence, friendship and self-belief built is truly invaluable.

Our charity leads with the following values:

  • Passionate
  • Purposeful
  • Transparent
  • Connected
  • Engaged
  • Compassionate

Building a modern, skilled, and diverse Board is a key priority for our Charity. We want our leadership culture to reflect the diversity, experiences and strengths of the children we serve.

We are committed to inclusive growth that champions our children.

If you join us at Leeds Children’s Charity…

You'll be joining our Board at a pivotal and energising moment for Leeds Children’s Charity! Our charity has extraordinary impact every day, and it would be great for you to be a part of that.

As Chair; your senior-leadership experience will be greatly valued. We'll trust your sound judgement in ensuring our mission and values remain our priority. You'll also act as an ambassador for our charity, as you represent us to stakeholders and our partners.

Your role will see you supporting trustee development, while leading in strategic decision-making. Your governance skills will strengthen our life‑changing work for the next generation.

Being a Chair is a great way to enhance your skills, learn from others and support a worthy cause. You'll lead our Board, while also working flexibly around your other commitments.

Your leadership will make a visible, lasting difference at a time when positive change is not only possible, but already underway.

What do Leeds Children’s Charity look for in our Chair?

We are particularly looking for someone with:

  • A clear understanding of good governance or the ability to develop this quickly
