We are now looking for Board Trustees to join our experienced Board on a voluntary basis.

The Role
As one of our ten Board Trustees, you will be responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of the charity and its financial health.
You will help to develop the organisation’s aims, objectives and goals in accordance with the governing document, and legal and regulatory guidelines. Our latest financial statements and strategic plan can be found on the about us pages of our website.
You’ll enable us to achieve our mission of widening access to learning and work opportunities so we can work towards a society in which everyone can realise their potential.
About You
To be considered as a Board Trustee, you will need:
- To have perspective, broad knowledge and experience that can be applied to discussions and decisions at Board level
- An understanding of governance
- The ability to balance challenging and supporting
- The capacity to lend support and expertise
- A sense of proportion of control relative to operational needs
- To be objective and independent, without bias
- Analytical skills
- The ability to focus on strategic issues
Time Commitment
The board meets four times a year for approximately two hours and has a Strategic Away Day each January. Meetings are a mixture of in-person meetings in London and Leicester and remote meetings.
Other organisations may call this role Trustee, Non-Executive Board Member, Board Advisor, Independent Board Member, or Board Advisory Consultant.
The closing date for this role is the 4th December 2023.
